Introduction
Automated fire alarm panels and engine-bay fire detection systems both need to reliably tell the difference between an actual flame and ordinary bright light, and that specific capability is exactly what this experiment builds. An IR flame sensor module is wired to the STM32F070RB, providing both an analog intensity reading and a simple digital presence flag, and detected flame presence is reported over UART along with the analog intensity.
2. Scope
This experiment covers understanding how a flame sensor's infrared photodiode responds specifically to fire's characteristic infrared emission, distinguishing it conceptually from a generic light sensor, and reading both its analog and digital outputs. This reinforces the combined analog and digital sensor reading pattern, applied here to a different physical phenomenon.
